HUKANMAA
Wilderness camp
Hukanmaa is located 15 km north of Kangos, on the east bank of the Lainio River. In this peaceful place, is a charming 18th-century cottage, carefully relocated and lovingly restored in a rustic style.
Isolated but accessible, this cabin, which sleeps up to 6 people, is a welcome escape from the modern world. Although there is no running water, an outdoor toilet and a rustic feel, modern comforts such as electricity are provided.
Inside, a small stove is used for cooking. Water comes either from the river or from the Guesthouse. It should be noted that drinking water is only available at the Guesthouse.
The heart of the chalet is its kitchen and sitting area, centered around a cozy fireplace – an inviting place to gather for meals or relax in the evening.
A short walk down to the river reveals a wood-fired sauna, offering a traditional experience. A staircase leads directly from the sauna to the river, allowing for invigorating swims in any season. Next to this, a wind shelter provides an idyllic setting for al fresco dining around the open fire.
Hukanmaa attracts visitors all year round, offering a sanctuary to recharge and relax amidst the arms of nature.
Welcome to Hukanmaa – the land of wolves!
