Introduction
The destination is the heart of Swedish Lapland. Our base will be
Lapland Guesthouse, located in the small village of Kangos just under the
Aurora Belt, and surrounded by the most beautiful wilderness. During this
photography retreat we will explore some unique locations, both by
snowmobile and snowshoes, to capture magical moments. Snowcoverd
landscapes, reindeers and we also go hunting for auroras.
The weekend is guided by the professional local photographer Lotta
Nyberg.
What is included?

• 4 days / 3 nights accommodation
• All meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner)
• Transfer from and to airport
• Camera course. Basic information to get to know your camera
better. Learn to use your camera beyond the auto settings. Camera
settings to use for the auroras. And some tips for landscape
photos.
• Editing course. How to do edit in Camara raw and photoshop.
• Extra clothing for cold weather.
• 1 evening with sauna
• 1 snowshoe photo adventure
• 1 snowmobile photo adventure
• 1 evening with aurora photography.
Limited number of participants: max. 8 people (minimum number of
participants of 4 people must be reached 6 weeks before the start
of the course)
Not included: Travel/Airplane tickets. Drinks.
Target Group
The Photo retreat is aimed at beginners of photography. Advanced
photographers wanting to capture the magic of Swedish Lapland in
midwinter could also benefit from the retreat.
Due to the small group size, we have the opportunity to specifically
address the individual needs of the participants.
We give you a overview of the most important topics of landscape and
especially aurora photography. The mix of theory and practice will quickly
bring you from the ’know-how’ to the creative captures.
For non-photographing partners, this trip also offers a great nature and
travel experience.
Retreat schedule
(One of the nights we go out with the intention to capture the northern lights.
What night it will be is decided by the weather, because we need clear
sky for it.)
Day 1: Arrival. Pick up at the airport and then on our way to the
Guesthouse . After you have settled in to your room there will be Swedish
fika, presentations of the guides and the participants followed by a
camera course where you will learn how to get of auto settings on your
camera. How ISO, shutter speed and aperture works and other beneficial
knowledges. We will also go trough different settings for different auroras
so you are ready to capture the magic if the weather is on our side. We
will also talk about about the compositions of landscape photography.
Day 2: We grab our cameras and put snowshoes on, and we go to
explore the forests and frozen lakes by feet. This way we have the
possibility to enjoy the surroundings in a slow pace, and by the
completely silence of the place.
Day 3: We go out in Snowmobile to explore some unique locations in the
middle of the frozen forests, swamps and lakes. And then we arrive at a
Reindeer farm where we have the opportunity to take some nice photos
of this lovely animals. When we arrive to Lapland Guesthouse we will
meet up for editing course befor dinner.
Day 4: Breakfast at the guesthouse and transfer to the airport.
